Claremont is known as the home of the Claremont Colleges and other educational institutions. Claremont is known for its tree lined streets with numerous beautiful, historic buildings. In 2007, Claremont was rated as the fifth best place to live in the United States. Claremont has a population of approx 35,000, due to its large number of trees and residents with doctoral degrees, it is sometimes refered to as “The City of Trees and PhDs”. Claremont is located at the eastern end of L.A. County, bordering Upland and Montclair. Commuter train service to Claremont is provided by Metrolink from the Claremont Station, traveling from L.A. union station to San Bernardino up to 19 times on a day.
